Above a large tree overlooking a village, a cool breeze blew over Ella.

“No!”

Mana gathered around Ella, who was screaming as she was about to fall. The sound disappeared, and her legs jumped out of the branches and stood in the air.

Surprised, Ella opened her eyes and looked at Xyle, who raised his finger to sign for silence, then pointed to the village visible under the tree. The village where Ella and Xyle had gone was engulfed in silence. Of all the frozen people, Vylun was the first to move.

“The lady has disappeared. Search all around!”

As he wandered around looking for Ella, who suddenly disappeared, he immediately gave orders to his knights. The well-trained knights dispersed in all directions at his command, while the count’s knights stopped them. Even the soldiers who had been hiding on the outskirts of the village until now appeared and aimed their bows at Vylun and his knights.

“What are you doing?” In an instant, Vylun, surrounded by three knights, shouted at Count Haans, who was standing leisurely. Ignoring his question, the count glanced around, noticed a carriage that was parked to one side, and approached it.

The knights protecting the carriage tried to block him, but seeing an arrow shot by the knight standing behind the count, grazing Vylun’s side and stuck on a tree trunk behind, they froze.

Joanne in the carriage was also important, but Vylun was more critical. Seeing the movement of the knights, Vylun let out a sigh. Even if he had told his knights to protect Joanne instead of him, his command wouldn’t work.

Vylun rummaged through his memories to recall anything that could stop the count.

“What is your relationship with Evan?” He asked the count, recalling a strange request by Evan before Ella came out this morning.

“You should eat in the first village. If there’s any village person announcing the news, leave the person alone.”

“Wouldn’t there be a commotion?”

“Nothing bad will happen to Ella.”

However, Evan would not have expected this situation. Vylun had to start the search for Ella right away. He was worried about her, dragged away by a strange wizard, and his lips were drying up every second of his time.

But Vylun couldn’t hear the answer he expected from Count Haans.

“If you are talking about the master from Constance’s family, he is a stranger to me. We just worked together for a while for the benefit of each other. Hey, don’t move. My subordinate’s arrow sometimes flies in the wrong direction.”

His smirk came from arrogance and sounded more annoyed than when he was dealing with Ella. He was also unhappy with this startling situation, as the perfect script was utterly twisted.

“I didn’t want this kind of development, but I can’t help it.”

He opened the door of the carriage, annoyingly.

Joanne, who had been listening to the whole situation in the carriage, leaned back as much as she could in the carriage and sat down. Nervous, with her heart pounding at the appearance of Count Haans, she regained her stability when she saw Xyle.
